New Pells is beyond the pale

Harvey’s has unveiled its latest beer, Pells Pale, named after the Sussex word for a body of water.

At 3.7 per cent ABV, Pells is made with South Downs Sussex spring water drawn from the brewery’s artesian wells.

Produced with Motueka and UK hops, Pells is an exceptionally pale ale characterised by citrus aromas, a fruity palate, and a subtly bitter finish.

Launching in both cask and keg formats, it marks the beginning of a new chapter for Harvey’s. With the installation of a new canning line, the company is set to introduce 440ml containers for its beers including Wharf IPA, Pilsner and an upcoming nitro porter.

“Pells Pale is not just another pale ale,” said marketing manager Zoë Prescott. “Inspired by the success of our Coronation brew, we have crafted not only a delicious new beer but also a visually distinctive brand that sets these offerings apart from our core range.

“This expansion allows us to cater to the growing demand in the on-trade sector while continuing to be inspired by the vibrant spirit of Sussex.”

Cask Pells is now on sale with the canned version expected to arrive later in the year.
