Brewer goes nuts for new cask ale

Enjoy a taste of Kent with Cobnut (3.4 per cent ABV), the latest beer released by Shepherd Neame as part of its Cask Club.

Cobnut is a light brown ale, boasting a blend of biscuit, toffee and earthy flavours with a nutty finish. It is brewed with Kentish Target hops, followed by late hopping in the brewhouse and cask with locally grown East Kent Goldings, and uses a mix of chocolate, amber, ale and crystal malts.

Sheps senior brewer Stewart Tricker said: “The combination of four malts has allowed us to craft a well-rounded beer that is perfect for enjoying in a cosy pub throughout February and March. No nuts were harmed in the brewing of this beer!”

Future ales in the Cask Club programme over the next few months include Rumour Mill and Go For Gold.
