British Cider Week (14-22 April) is a collaboration of cider makers, retailers and venues from across the United Kingdom to celebrate the depth and diversity of the drink. The week is packed with events and activities involving a wide range of producers, from new young start-ups to traditional producers with generations of heritage.

Enjoy a behind the scenes view of Harry’s Cider with an in-depth tour of the Somerset cidery. Learn about the apple harvest and how the trees are cared for with a walk around the orchard, then see how the cider is made and matured in the tank room. The tours, lasting around two hours, will be accompanied by a full tasting of the producer’s range with a pairing of a vintage local cheddar.

An rare opportunity to visit the Sandford Orchards’ cellar. This chance happens only once a year and lucky visitors can expect to taste firm favourites before they are bottled, rare ciders straight from the wood and even versions which may never see the light of day. This is a chance to learn what the cider makers are looking for when they are creating blends and to discover the different flavours as they mature. The tour will include tastings with complimentary cheese and charcuterie boards and will conclude with a question-and-answer session with the Sandford Orchard principal cider makers.Â
