CAMRA in running for top communications award
CAMRA is in the running for the coveted British Guild of Beer Writers corporate communications award, alongside Siren Brew and Untold Agency.
The winner will be announced on 23 November at the guild’s awards dinner in London.
CAMRA has been recognised for its diverse range of member communications, which includes its award-winning quarterly print magazine BEER (pictured), its digitised What’s Brewing news platform, the popular Pubs. Pints. People. podcast and the wealth of information available across its Learn & Discover platform aimed at helping people learn more about their favourite drink.
CAMRA national chairman Nik Antona said: “It is a real pleasure to be recognised as a finalist for this award, and an absolute testament to the hard work of our staff team and volunteers in creating exciting and engaging content for members.
“Since the start of lockdown in 2020, we have unveiled a fantastic new podcast and a fully digitised news website. These have been complemented by our print publication of BEER (which now also includes a What’s Brewing insert) and our Learn & Discover platform, which just goes from strength to strength with a range of engaging, multi-media content. A huge congratulations to the team involved.”
Finalists were selected through a judging panel chaired by current Beer Writer of the Year Pete Brown who said: “I first chaired these awards a decade ago and this year’s field feels very different – more entries tackling a broader range of topics and using a wider range of media, submitted by a more diverse group of writers and other communicators.
“The quality of entries this year is as high as it’s ever been, which speaks volumes for the standard of communication achieved by guild members. It also means that some great work has sadly not made the cut this year and so, as well as congratulating our finalists, we send our commiserations to the talented communicators who’ve missed out this year – and hope they enter again.”
