Fledgling brewer Metalhead took the cask crown at the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) North East Independent Beer Awards at Gateshead Rugby Club Beer and Music Festival.
Metalhead, which started production two years ago and has a brewery tap in Blyth, Northumberland, took the overall cask title with Pretty Vacant, a 3.8 per cent pale ale, which won the Cask Session IPA category. It also took gold in the Cask British Dark Beers with Best Mate (4.2 per cent)....
