John Adnams, former managing director and chairman of Southwold-based Adnams, has died at the age of 92.
A staunch supporter of real ale, he is renowned for giving drinkers oases of real ale in what was regarded as Watney’s bright beer desert. During his time, he oversaw the rapid of expansion of the company’s beers, without compromising quality, across East Anglia and into London.
