Thanks to a successful crowdfunding, one of Sheffield’s best-known beer off-licences has a new home.
Hop Hideout owner Jules Gray is moving her 10-year-old award-winning business into a new, intimate space, at Grade II*-listed Leah’s Yard, in the heart of the city centre’s regeneration project.
The building is an 1800s historic site, used for little mester workshops in and around the cutlery trade the area is known for.
The move will enable Hop Hideout to provide more food and drink tasting events.
Moving to Leah’s Yard was made possible by Hop Hideout’s crowdfunder campaign, which hit almost £10,000 in May 2024.
Owner Gray said: “We’re excited to move to Leah’s Yard social hub at the heart of Sheffield showcasing the very best in local independent art, retail, food and drink.
“We’re so grateful to all of our supporters who have shown that the beer scene is alive and well in Sheffield. It’s a very exciting time to be opening our own premises once again.”
Gray is also founder and organiser of Sheffield Beer Week and Indie Beer Feast.
