Guid moves in Westminster

Arran brewery’s Guid Ale is flying the Scottish flag in Westminster as it is the featured beer in the House of Commons Strangers’ Bar.

The appearance is down to North Ayrshire and Arran MP Patricia Gibson recommending Guid Ale (3.8 per cent) to the House of Commons guest ale programme.

Gibson (pictured right) said: “I was delighted to sponsor a guest beer from Arran in the House of Commons, and welcome Gerald Michaluk (pictured left), owner of the brewery, to raise a glass of its award-winning popular Guid Ale.”

Michaluk said: “We are indebted to Patricia Gibson for recommending our beer and it is great to see it, in pride of place, in the Westminster bar. Patricia also welcomed us to the House of Commons to see our beer and even pulled a perfect pint, having worked in a bar in her youth.

“As the SNP’s spokesperson for the environment, food and rural affairs she is very well informed about the issues facing the brewing Industry, rural Scotland and farming.”

The Arran has plans to expand its business south of the border.
