CAMRA is putting together a roadmap to strengthen its future by developing one centralised digital experience that promotes all facets of the Campaign.
What that eventually looks like will be determined over the next two months as the organisation consults and engages with volunteers, members, and the wider public.
The development of the final digital experience is expected to take place in the second half of 2023, with an initial release expected shortly after that. Throughout the process, members and volunteers will be called upon to help test and feedback on its final form.
CAMRA digital futures director Ash Corbett-Collins said: “The aim of the new digital experience is to bring together many of CAMRA’s valuable data resources into a single app that supports our aims and gives our members a vastly improved experience.
“CAMRA campaigning touches upon so many areas of activity from running 180-plus festivals to scoring brews in pubs for inclusion in our Good Beer Guide to highlighting real ale pubs and clubs on WhatPub. Many of the systems have been built independently by necessity through the hard work of volunteers and our aim is to incorporate the valuable information in them onto one platform to ensure members can easily access this in one place. This will make it easier than ever for consumers to find their favourite pub, club, beer or cider, take part in our events and volunteer across the Campaign.”
CAMRA Digital Futures will be surveying members over the coming weeks to determine how best to meet the needs of users with design and development planned throughout 2023.
