For many, one of the worst aspects of the lockdown for brewers, pubs and clubs was the sight of good beer being poured down the drain.
But Hall and Woodhouse brewery found a way to turn the dire situation around. The brewery, based in Blandford Forum, Dorset, used its unsold beer to generate power for homes. The brewery’s energy system can generate enough power to supply 46 homes per year and 17,000 for a day.
The firm managed to use the returned beer and convert it into green electricity by using the biogas it creates....
