A campaign to halt the closure of the Broadleys pub in Hereford continues.
In a report sent to Herefordshire Council planners, Herefordshire branch has set out the case for saving the pub, highlighting that if it were lost it would leave 17,600 people who live in the city south of the River Wye with only two pubs.
Residents are up in arms following the delivery of leaflets saying the pub will be demolished and replaced with a Co-op store.
Herefordshire branch campaigner Mark Haslam said: “It is still hoped that we might hear from the Co-op, but so far they have declined to comment. Obviously, this is very disappointing and is something we are still keen to change.”
