Help champion the best of British beer

To celebrate the launch of the 2025 Champion Beer of Britain (CBoB) competition, CAMRA is inviting members to join an online session on how to get involved in this high-profile award.

Scheduled for Monday 25 September at 7pm, this year’s winner Elland brewery will share its experience of the competition and the benefits it has brought. To take part, visit the online booking system and you will be sent an invitation with everything you need.

Members can find out how to get involved in discovering the cream of the crop by hearing from judges, organisers and CAMRA’s awards director.

CBoB is one of the most coveted real ale competitions in the world and has helped brewers gain national and international acclaim, plus it gives CAMRA members a unique opportunity to be part of the process.

Beer lovers have until 1 November to make their submission on the Champion Beer of Britain platform, where they can choose up to five beers across each category. Regional heats will then take place before the final judging and announcement at the Great British Beer Festival in 2025. All the beer judging is done through blind tasting.

Beer tasters needed: the Campaign is also encouraging our members to become taste panellists and develop notes for the Good Beer Guide and other publications, as well as helping nominate beers for the Champion Beer of Britain competitions. CAMRA is also urging members to sign up to its tasting panel training, which has been designed to give people the skills and confidence to assess beer and learn about styles.
