CAMRA's long-running beer tent will make its return at Kent’s cricket festival in June.
“We will be running our popular CAMRA real ale tent at Kent’s Spitfire Cricket Ground, Old Dover Road, Canterbury from Sunday 11 June to Wednesday 14 June. It’s during the festival week and Kent will be playing Surrey in the county championship match,” said one of the organisers Gillian Keay.
The CAMRA tent, which returns after a three-year absence, is free for CAMRA members and their guests only.
Gillian said: “Admission to the CAMRA tent is free to members and their guests on production of a valid membership card. The tent will be open from 10am each day until after close of play (about 7pm). The cricket starts at 11am.
“We have our own private seating at the front of our tent, overlooking the pitch. If all the seats are taken, you are welcome to carry your drinks to other seating areas, but please ask for plastic glasses if you are moving away from the tent. We take cash or card payments. Beer is about £4 to £4.50 a pint.”
All surplus proceeds from the tent are donated to two charities – Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
