The weather might be cold and wet, but pubs can be great places for fans wanting to experience the best of the World Cup.
CAMRA national chairman Nik Antona said: “Major sporting events provide a fantastic opportunity for communities to convene at their local, supporting these vital businesses.
“It's concerning to hear that footfall at pubs is expected to be significantly lower this year compared to the Euros in 2021, which provided a real lifeline for locals up and down the country.
“Pubs are a vital part of the social fabric of our communities but are under immense pressure this winter. Last week’s Budget offered little comfort for licensees struggling to cope with rising costs and customers tightening their belts, with no extra help announced to help keep pub-going affordable.
“CAMRA will continue to campaign for a fair deal for the nation's pubs, clubs, breweries and cider producers and I urge football fans across the UK to support their local while supporting their team during the tournament.”
