It is with great sadness that the Liverpool and Districts CAMRA branch announces the sudden passing of its social secretary Matt Valentine.
Branch members will remember Matt as the smiling, friendly face of CAMRA who made everyone feel so welcome on his social trips. He meticulously planned his routes to make sure we visited the best pubs, and for our coach trips he would often travel to destinations in advance to make sure they were worthy of a visit.
Matt was also a keen quizzer and during lockdown hosted several online which were popular with members, so much so that Matt was asked to carry on once pubs had reopened. However, Matt was keen to get us all back out to the pubs and led several well-attended walks this year, including one when it was our turn to host the regional day.
Matt was not only a colleague, but also a friend to many in the branch, and he will be sadly missed. Our condolences go to his family and friends at this sad time.
