CAMRA’s Bristol Beer Festival is back at a new venue after a two-year absence due to Covid-19 restrictions.
It will run from 17-20 November in the City Hall, College Green, Bristol with around 90 beers to choose from plus close to 30 ciders and perries.
Bristol & District branch chairman Richard Brooks said: “It is exciting to be able to announce the CAMRA Bristol Beer Festival is back! The 2020 festival had to be cancelled due to Covid-19 and since then our usual venue, Brunel’s Old Station at Temple Meads, has remained closed.
“Over the last couple of years many people have asked me when the festival will return. Once Covid restrictions were sufficiently relaxed we began searching for a venue and we have ended up back at our original home of the Council House (now City Hall) on College Green.
“Normally we hold the event in March, but there was such enthusiasm among volunteers to get on and hold a beer festival this year that we are going ahead from 17-20 November.
“As we already have thousands of glasses and other items in storage that were made for the cancelled 2020 festival, it seems wasteful to destroy them and get new ones. So, for this 2022 festival we are taking the more environmentally responsible approach of using some of the 2020-branded items.
“Due to the requirements of the venue, we are not able to run a Friday lunchtime session, which is a shame as that was always very popular. We have however added a new Sunday afternoon session, so please consider giving that a go.”
Tickets for Thursday, Friday and Saturday sessions cost £14 and £11 for the new Sunday afternoon opening. All tickets include beer festival tokens worth £5. Also included are a festival programme and commemorative half-pint glass.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
