Should a landlord pull through beer before each session?
This depends on the pub and how good is its cellar installation.
The best fitted pubs will get the beer from the cellar to the bar via insulated pythons which are cooled using circulating cold water or glycol keeping the beer in the lines at cellar temperature. At the bar, there will be pump cylinders with cooled insulated jackets so even beer sat in the handpump overnight (typically a quarter or third of a pint) will be kept at cellar temperature....
