An exciting Edinburgh-based beer club for women has announced the launch of a new beer festival aimed at celebrating the female experts who are leading the beer industry.

Beers Without Beards says the Women In Beer Festival will run over four days in October in five of Edinburgh’s top pubs and bars, and one of the speakers is CAMRA vice chair Abigail Newton.

Abi is a member of a panel which will explain what a cask ale is, how to market it and why the taste is different to keg.

Beers Without Beards founder and festival organiser Amelie Tassin said: “We want to amplify the amazing work women in beer are doing and create role models to help redress the gender balance.”

Other expert panels will be discussing how to set up a brewery, marketing and strategy and home brewing.

Venues taking part in the festival are the Stockbridge Tap, Monty’s, Salt Horse, Fierce Bar and the Campervan Brewery Taproom. The venues will showcase 10 breweries (brewed or owned by women) across five tap takeovers, conferences and workshops all hosted by Women In Beer.
