Britain’s highest pub, the Tan Hill Inn, in North Yorkshire, is up for sale for £900,000.
The isolated pub, where a “solitary inn” was noted to stand in a 1586 guide book, stands at 1,732ft (528m) in the Yorkshire Dales is four miles from its nearest neighbour and it is regularly snowed in during winter storms.
