The Cask and Apple pub in Craig y Don, Llandudno is Abercolwyn CAMRA branch’s Mild Pub of the Year 2026.
Run by John and Sharon Sumbland, the pub showcased six milds throughout CAMRA’s Mild Month campaign in May.
The effort secured the pub the award.
A branch spokesman said: “During the month of May CAMRA celebrates that wonderful drink of mild, a beer style that is rapidly disappearing from our pubs.
“But what exactly is mild? The beer originally appeared in Britain in the 17th century but hit its height of popularity in the 1960s and 70s.
“Generally, milds are dark in colour and of a lower-alcohol volume, usually below four per cent ABV.
“The Cask and Apple in Craig y Don showcased mild during May featuring local beers from breweries such as Cwrw Nant, Magic Dragon and Conwy and from further afield there were beers from Oakham, Warrington and the strong Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby.”
