Manchester pubs encouraged to claim rates relief

Pub campaigners have welcomed a move by Manchester City Council to encourage local pubs to apply for pub-specific business rate relief. The council is encouraging more than 230 pubs in the city, with a rateable value below £100.000 to apply for rates relief, but so far, fewer than 50 have claimed it.
